All Systems GO for IFSEC

13 June 2014

With IFSEC International 2014 running from 17th 19th June, at its new home at the ExCel in London, all eyes (and a concerted effort) are on what is one of the biggest events in the international security calendar. If you are attending do come and meet the TDSi team in person on stand F1100, we are part of the  ‘Harmony Village’ group of stands with fellow Harmony Alliance partners Texecom, GJD, Elmdene and Advanced LED Technology and a refreshment area sponsored by TDSi’s distribution partner Midwich.

Obviously the event is the perfect platform on which to present our latest products and services and this year is no different we will be showcasing our new range of security readers and the the latest version of our EXgarde PRO 4.3 integrated security software , which includes full integration with industry leaders such as Texecom, Assa Abloy Aperio, Milestone and Microsoft Active Directory. But equally we are using the event as the perfect opportunity to meet partners to talk about how our channel partner programme can help them to grow their business and the dedicated technical and sales support services we offer to ensure the highest levels of customer support.

Being able to consult with our partners gives us invaluable feedback from people who work right at the ‘coal face’ of the security installation industry, helping us to ensure we continue to deliver exactly what their customers need as integrated security solutions continue to drive market needs.

TDSi will again be taking part in the presentation sessions at IFSEC, this year.  I will be taking part in two presentations; - ‘Functionality, reliability, performance: security solutions for smarter buildings’ in the SMART Buildings Theatre at 1pm on Tuesday 17th June, with TDSi’s fellow Harmony Alliance members. I will also be taking part in a presentation entitled: ‘UK Security on the World Stage: advice for exporters’ which is being presented on the IFSEC Centre Stage on at 1pm on Thursday 19th June. We will be discussing how exports can be a valuable way to maintain and enhance profitability, talking about recent BSIA research on the subject and offering best practice advice, potential pitfalls and the importance of considering an export strategy. My colleague, and TDSi’s Engineering and Operations Director Mike Sussman, will be presenting ‘Security and Access Control: key trends for 2014-2015’, in the SMART Buildings Theatre, on Thursday 19th June from 11am 11:30am. Mike’s presentation will look at the substantial rise in demand for integrated security systems and will examine how this trend is likely to evolve. The presentation will also examine how upcoming trends and technology will put the security industry in a strong position to maintain growth.

Away from IFSEC, we are continuing to develop our business and our team to meet the future needs of our customers and as part of this; we are implementing a number of new training initiatives to maintain the flexibility and adaptability of our employees. For example,   the TDSi sales team recently participated in Dale Carnegie training to focus attention on our long-term strategies for growth. The course, entitled ‘Sales Advantage’, helps to strengthen the overall sales process and I am pleased to say our team came in the top third of the participants. We know it is vital to grow our sales strategy and portfolio to match the market needs.  We want to be perfectly positioned to meet these needs and to continue to provide precisely the account management experience that customers expect from TDSi.

Additionally we are supporting other members of our team in their career progression and self-improvement skills too. Lucy Skinner of TDSi’s finance team is benefitting from an AAT course for Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and Technical Support Engineer Michael Lee is now studying for an NVQ in Customer Support, which will help with his day-to-day role as well as continued career progression.

IFSEC is an important show for the security industry as a whole, offering a fascinating insight into the state of the industry and where it’s going. The team and I are all set and will be on the TDSi stand, F1100 all week.

Wishing you all a great IFSEC 2014 and see you all there!
