Time to Spring Forward
25 April 2014
Spring is definitely in the air and even if the recent outburst of sunshine was only a blip there is no doubting that the seasons are changing again! Spring is seen as a time of rebirth and regrowth and there is definitely a positive feeling at this time of year. At TDSi, we have embraced this with the appointment of our new Director for UK Sales, Adam Norris. Adam and I have known each other for a number of years and I knew he would be the perfect person to help us reposition our sales strategy and add fresh energy to our team. Whilst our international sales are a rapidly growing and thriving part of our business, the UK provides the lion’s share of our sales. Adam’s role is to ensure that TDSi continues to cater for our UK customers and partners, ensuring that our channel offering is highly competitive, focused and offers exactly what the market wants.
Going back to the idea of ‘rebirth’ you may have noticed that TDSi has revamped its website. For any modern business the website is (arguably) the first thing many potential clients will see of your business. It’s like a 21st Century version of the big iron gates that would once proudly have presented a company to the world. Equally a website needs to manage your traffic as much as big iron gates, it needs to show people the direction they want to go to find what they need and this evolves over time. The TDSi Marketing team sat down to look at the old website and we felt it could offer an even more tailored service to our partners and customers. So like a big Spring Clean we have decided a fresh design would usher in the new season very nicely. The new design deliberately focusses on helping visitors understand what we do and has been sectioned into four areas for specific visitors end-users, installers, distributors and specifiers. We hope that the new website will offer all our visitors just what they are looking for but we would very much welcome any feedback.
As well as the new website, TDSi’s aim is to forge even closer links with our partners this year, with a number of appearances at events to meet our partners and customers. As well as exhibiting at IFSEC 2014 (which this year moves to its new home at ExCel London, 17th-19th June) our team met with visitors to Security TWENTY 14 Conference South at the Marriott City Centre Hotel in Bristol, which was held on 23rd April. The event was aimed at everyone involved in the security industry from installers and specifiers to anyone that relies upon security technology to protect their organisation. We enjoyed speaking to everyone interested about the latest security trends and products and of course it is always interesting to discuss specific projects or needs. The event was also a great forum for visitors to tell us what they would like to see available in the future something that we really value at TDSi. Later on in the year will see us meeting customers at IFSEC South Africa, Security 2014 in Melbourne, IFSEC South East Asia and Security 2014 in Beijing.
