Following the British Security Industry Association’s (BSIA’s) Annual General Meeting, TDSi’s Technical Director, Mike Sussman has been elected to serve a further twelve months as Chair of the organisation’s Access Control Committee.
As the UK trade association for the professional security industry, BSIA’s member companies are responsible for the manufacture, distribution and installation of more than 70% of the UK’s security products and services, including both electronic and physical security.
Within the organisation, the Access Control Committee is one of the major sector groups, playing a prominent role in its overall activities, as Mike Sussman explained: “The access control market is a rapidly changing one, with new technologies and applications coming on stream on a very regular basis. Consequently, one of the major focuses of this group is to raise awareness amongst end-users and specifiers of the different types of equipment and technologies that are available to them - and the most appropriate environments in which they should be used.
“Our remit is also to represent the industry at a national and international level and so we continue to work closely with other leading bodies, such as the National Security Inspectorate, on a number of initiatives. We also play an active role in the development of appropriate standards at national, European and International level ensuring that companies across the industry are able to cope with the demands of this rapidly evolving sector”.
