TDSi launches its new three-factor Biometric Reader

 4th May 2012

TDSi has launched its new biometric reader, DIGIgarde PLUS, a multitasking fingerprint biometric access control and Time and Attendance reader that is compatible with fingerprints, MIFARE cards and PINs.

The DIGIgarde PLUS reader can be used in stand-alone mode for Time and Attendance applications and to control access to a single door, or can be integrated into an access control system, which allows real-time event monitoring and central system programming and control. The reader is IP65 rated (a level of weather and dirt resistance that means the robust reader can be mounted internally or externally) and utilises Power over Ethernet (PoE). It provides added security should a specific entrance require it, offering access control using a combination of secure methods.  The reader can easily be integrated into existing or planned security and surveillance systems.  It is designed to ensure ease of installation and compatibility via an SDK, offering maximum value for money.

John Davies, Managing Director of TDSi comments, “It has become essential that organisations are able to not only have secure access, but also have levels of security which will integrate into a wider and extensive access control system. The DIGIgarde PLUS reader has many functions from time and attendance to an LCD screen which enhances feedback to the user and offers an intuitive local programming interface.”

DIGIgarde PLUS is compatible with TDSi’s EXgarde PRO 4.0 software and popular MIFARE cards to give high levels of security and can be used in situations where hygiene or ease of access are essential. Its high speed matching algorithm provides maximum usability and its access control intelligence gives the option to install the reader to control a single door or as part of a combined central control system.

DIGIgarde PLUS’s high resolution optical scanner provides reliable reading of fingers of all sizes. The built in MIFARE smart card reader allows the user’s template to be stored either on the card or in the reader, whilst the full white-on-black dot matrix LCD enhances feedback to the user and offers an intuitive local programming interface.

John Davies adds, “The reader is perfect for both small and medium businesses looking to increase their level of security with an easy implementation and use for staff members. Having an integrated access control system has never been so simple and effective”.
