Having made its debut at IFSEC 2011, TDSi's new facial recognition reader demonstrates that by utilising the unique shape of the human face it is possible to provide a highly secure, rapid and reliable method of controlling access to sensitive or restricted areas. The reader frees users from the need to carry traditional security cards or tokens and crucially it can easily be added to existing or planned security and surveillance systems, to make the most of a facility's infrastructure investment.
The reader can store up to 500 users and can verify an individual user in less than one second (with a False Acceptance Rate (FAR) of less than 0.0001%). It is also highly reliable, operating in virtually all light conditions, maintaining stringent access control.
Profiles are stored and administered through the reader directly so authorised users can be instantly updated or removed and it is ideal for access to sensitive areas, such as clean rooms, where carrying tokens or cards may be difficult or even potentially a hazard.
